- קְבוּרָהf. (b. h.; קָבַר) burial. M. Kat. 28a (ref. to Num. 20:1) סמוך למיּתה ק׳ immediately after death, burial is mentioned (without mentioning the exhibition of the body in an open place prior to burial). Snh.46b (ref. to Deut. 21:23) מכאן רמז לק׳וכ׳ here is a hint in the Torah that burying the dead is a religious duty. Ib. ק׳ משום בזיונא, v. בִּזְיוֹנָא. Y.Taan.IV, 69a top משניתנו … לק׳ when those slain at Bethar were permitted to be buried; Ber.48b. Gen. R. s. 62 מקְבוּרָתָהּ … לקְבוּרָתוֹוכ׳ thirty-eight years intervened between Sarahs funeral and that of Abraham; a. fr.Targ. Y. II Deut. 33:21 בית ק׳ cemetery.
